Another Unbelievable Act of Liberal Hypocrisy

It doesn't get much more hypocritical than this.  Actually, hypocritical simply doesn't describe this unethical smear, bordering on slander.

"Michigan environmentalist and Senate nominee, Democrat Gary Peter,  refuses to sell his $19,000 investment in French oil giant Total S.A., which produces pet coke an oil byproduct that Peters called “dirtier than the dirtiest fuel,” according to the Detroit News." 

Does Peters feel any sense of regret for having bought into this investment, which runs contrary to every environmental claim he has ever made?  Not surprisingly, Peters feels no regret whatsoever based upon the following rationalization.

“Am I going to sell it? I have no plans of it, no,” Peters told the Detroit News after speaking at the Michigan Democratic Party’s African-American alliance breakfast in Southfield. “It is an investment in the fourth largest oil company in the world. It has nothing to do with the Detroit situation.” 

The fact that the investment has no direct involvement in the Michigan environment, the company is engaging in operations that, according to environmentalists, including Peters himself, is an egregious pollution source.  Peters, like typical liberals, simply brushes it off as someone else's problem and not his.  If this isn't the height of hypocrisy, I don't know what the definition of hypocrisy is.

Meanwhile Peters is still trying to smear his opponent, Republican Terri Lynn Land in the Michigan U.S, Senate race to pollution in Detroit due to storage of pet coke, again, a pollutant he has invested in with his investment in French oil giant Total S.A., which produces pet coke.

The Lansing State Journal dismissed Peters’ attacks:

"There is no evidence Land had or has anything to do with it. There is also nothing linking her with pollution in Detroit’s 48217 ZIP code."

Another liberal smear, which raises serious questions about Gary Peters's ethical conduct, if not slander of Land.  Of course with such a lack of ethics on Peters' part, he would fit in well in the U.S. Senate with the likes of Harry Reid, Dick Durbin, etc..
